Festive boost and GST 2.0 have helped India's top carmakers report record-breaking sales in October 2025, the data shared by companies shows. Auto bellwether Maruti Suzuki led with the highest-ever monthly sales of 2.2 lakh units. Other carmakers also recorded equally robust growth in sales numbers, thanks to positive festive sentiment fuelled by GST rationalisation relief, and growing EV adoption.

In October 2025, Maruti Suzuki India sold a total of 220,894 units, which is its highest-ever monthly sales volume. Domestic sales reached an all-time high of 180,675 units, and the sales to other OEMs were at 8,915 units, and exports were at 31,304 units. Maruti's total domestic passenger vehicle sales (PV) stood at 176,318 as compared to 1,59,591 in the same period last year.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles sales in the domestic and international market for October 2025 stood at 61,295 units, delivering a 27% YoY growth, compared to 48,423 units during October 2024. SUVs led the charge, with 47,000 units sold, achieving the highest-ever 77% share in monthly sales. The company's all-time high EV wholesales stood at 9,286 units, surging 73% YoY, powered by strong customer preference. Among the models, Nexon saw demand surge, with 50% YoY volume growth as the popularity of Tata's multi-powertrain offerings continued to soar.

Hyundai Motor India saw total sales at 69,894 units in October 2025, with HMIL's monthly domestic sales at 53,792 units. HMIL also achieved export sales of 16,102 units in October 2025, with an 11% year-on-year growth. The popular duo - Hyundai CRETA and VENUE - achieved second-highest-ever combined monthly sales of 30,119 units. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director & Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, “October 2025 was a month driven by the festivals of Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali, further complemented by the positive impact of GST 2.0 reforms. This provided a significant boost to the Indian automotive industry. We expect to accelerate this momentum with the upcoming launch of the all-new Hyundai VENUE, which is already open for bookings."

SUV major Mahindra & Mahindra recorded its overall auto sales at 120,142 vehicles in October, a growth of 26% including exports. In the utility vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 71624 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 31% and overall, 73890 vehicles, including exports. The domestic sales for commercial vehicles stood at 31741, a growth of 14%. Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “In October, we achieved SUV sales of 71,624 units, a growth of 31%, which is the highest SUV sales we have clocked ever in a month! The total vehicle sales stand at 120,142 units, a 26% growth compared to the same month last year. October also saw the launch of the new editions of Thar, Bolero & Bolero Neo.”

Kia India registered its highest sales of 12,745 units, emerging as the key contributor. The recently launched Carens Clavis as well as Carens Clavis EV, accelerated the company’s growth with a record combined 8,779 units. The Seltos sold 7,130 units. Atul Sood, senior vice-president and national head, sales and marketing, Kia India, said: “The growing contribution of our EV range further validates our direction toward future-ready, sustainable mobility solutions for India."
