Jawa Yezdi, Indian Army complete 1,900-km Shaurya Vijay Yatra on Kargil Vijay Diwas

Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, in partnership with the Indian Army, concluded the 1,900-km Shaurya Vijay Yatra at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras on Kargil Vijay Diwas, commemorating the 27th anniversary of India's victory in the 1999 Kargil War under Operation Vijay.
The expedition, which began at the National War Memorial in New Delhi, brought together serving and retired defence personnel, Veer Naris, families of martyrs and civilian riders to pay tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War.
A key highlight of the yatra was the ceremonial transfer of sacred soil from the National War Memorial to the Kargil War Memorial.
"A defining moment of the expedition was the ceremonial carriage of sacred soil from the National War Memorial to the Kargil War Memorial, symbolically connecting generations of Indian soldiers whose unwavering commitment continues to safeguard the nation's freedom," Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles said in a statement.
The route covered several military landmarks across Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh, including Chandimandir, Rezang La and the Leh War Memorial, before culminating in Dras.
Launched in 2021, the Shaurya Vijay Yatra was conceived by Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles to commemorate the stories of India's armed forces and promote greater public awareness of their contribution. The initiative brings together members of the riding community, serving personnel, veterans, Veer Naris and families of martyrs.
The 2026 edition of the yatra was flagged off by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the presence of senior military officials, veterans and invited guests.
As per the release, participants completed the journey on a fleet of Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles, including the Jawa 350, Jawa 42, Jawa 42 FJ, Yezdi Adventure and Yezdi Scrambler, traversing high-altitude mountain passes and challenging terrain.
"The Shaurya Vijay Yatra is our way of ensuring that the stories of India's bravehearts continue to inspire future generations. From the National War Memorial to Dras, every kilometre of this journey was dedicated to honouring those who gave everything for the nation. We are proud to undertake this tribute alongside the Indian Army and the wider riding community," said Anupam Thareja, Co-founder, Classic Legends.
He added that by bringing together serving and retired defence personnel, Veer Naris and civilian riders, the initiative aims to ensure that the values of courage, service and national pride continue to resonate across generations.
The organisers said the yatra continues to serve as a tribute to the legacy of India's fallen soldiers while reinforcing the spirit of Kargil and its place in the nation's collective memory.
