JSW MG Motor India has opened pre-bookings for the MG Majestor, a new three-row SUV positioned in the premium D+ segment, at a token amount of ₹41,000. The model was first unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and is expected to compete with established full-size diesel SUVs in the domestic market.
Pricing details are yet to be announced. The launch marks JSW MG Motor India’s entry into a higher price band within the SUV segment as it seeks to expand its portfolio beyond compact and mid-size offerings.
Commenting on the launch, Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said, “India’s premium SUV customer is evolving rapidly, looking not just for space, but for a vehicle that projects stature, inspires confidence, and integrates seamlessly into a more ambitious lifestyle.
Large footprint, three-row layout
The Majestor is built on a 2,950 mm wheelbase and measures 5,046 mm in length, 2,016 mm in width and 1,870 mm in height. The dimensions place it among the larger ladder-frame SUVs sold in India. Exterior elements include a large grille, split headlamps with LED daytime running lights, connected LED tail lamps and 19-inch alloy wheels.
The SUV will be offered in six- and seven-seat configurations. The cabin features leather upholstery, a redesigned centre console and powered front seats with ventilation, massage and memory functions. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control and multi-colour ambient lighting.
On the technology front, the Majestor comes equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. It also includes a 12-speaker audio system, dual wireless charging pads, a 220V power outlet and connected vehicle features integrated through the company’s iSMART platform.
Technical specifications
Powering the SUV is a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can choose between two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations.
The four-wheel-drive system offers 10 drive modes, including an automatic mode that shifts from 2WD to 4WD when traction loss is detected. Off-road hardware includes front, rear and centre differential locks, crawl control, 219 mm ground clearance and a claimed water-wading capacity of up to 810 mm.
ADAS and safety suite
Safety features include Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with assisted steering, braking and acceleration. The SUV is also equipped with a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control and roll movement intervention.
“With MG Majestor, we have created an SUV that is rugged in its capability, refined in its comfort, and dependable in its engineering. Majestor for us represents our vision of what a true, full-size SUV should stand for, which is a commanding presence, sophisticated premium craftsmanship, intelligent in technology, and uncompromising in performance,” added Mehrotra.
The Majestor will be available in Sharp and Savvy trims across drivetrain options. Colour options include Pearl White, Concrete Grey, Metal Black and Metal Ash.
