Adani Power Ltd reported its highest-ever quarterly performance in the April-June quarter of FY27, with consolidated profit after tax (PAT) rising 42% year-on-year to ₹4,806 crore, driven by strong electricity demand, higher power sales and improved tariff realisation.

According to the official release on Wednesday, the Adani Group company also posted record quarterly revenue of ₹19,322 crore, up 33% from a year ago, while reported EBITDA grew 39% to ₹7,948 crore. On a continuing basis, excluding prior-period income recognition, revenue increased 26.6% to ₹17,936 crore and EBITDA rose 21.6% to ₹6,983 crore.

The country's largest private thermal power producer generated a record 31 billion units (BU) of electricity during the quarter and sold 28.8 BU, compared with 24.6 BU in the corresponding period last year, reflecting a 16.9% increase.

The company attributed the performance to a hotter-than-normal summer that pushed India's power consumption up 8.4% to 485.4 BU during the quarter. Peak power demand touched an all-time high of 270.8 GW in May 2026 as prolonged heatwaves boosted electricity usage across the country.

Power sales under long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) rose 30.3% to 24.5 BU, while average tariff realisation under PPAs improved 8.5% to ₹5.95 per unit. Merchant and short-term power realisation increased 13.1% to ₹7.04 per unit amid stronger market demand.

Commenting on the results, Chief Executive Officer S B Khyalia said, "Adani Power has once again demonstrated strength of its efficient and cost-competitive portfolio and operational excellence in various spheres by posting its highest ever quarterly EBITDA on a continuing basis."

He added that the company remains on track to expand its generation capacity to 45 GW, while diversifying into domestic and international hydropower projects and preparing to enter opportunities in the nuclear power sector.

During the quarter, the company completed the acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates' power assets under the corporate insolvency resolution process. The acquisition includes the 180 MW Churk thermal power plant, a 24% stake in Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd and an 11.49% stake in Prayagraj Power Generation Company Ltd.

Adani Power also signed a 25-year power supply agreement with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) to supply 1,600 MW from a new ultra-supercritical thermal power plant to be developed under the DBFOO model.
