On the operating front, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 27.2% to ₹1,175 crore. EBITDA margin expanded 210 basis points to 27.1%, from 25% in the year-ago quarter.

For the first half of FY27, revenue from operations rose 15.1% YoY to ₹8,368 crore. EBITDA increased 26% to ₹2,235 crore, while net profit grew 33.7% to ₹1,290 crore. EBITDA margin expanded 230 basis points to 26.7%, while profit after tax (PAT) margin improved 210 basis points to 15.4%.

Rajeev Juneja, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Mankind Pharma, said the company’s domestic business, excluding consumer healthcare, grew 15.9%, outperforming the Indian Pharmaceutical Market (IPM) by 1.2 times on a volume basis.

“Our domestic business recorded mid-teen growth, with the chronic segment outperforming the market by 1.1 times, led by 19% growth in cardiac and 16% in anti-diabetes therapies. Our acute portfolio also outperformed the market by 1.1 times, driven by 19% growth in gastro and 26% in vitamins, minerals and nutrition (VMN). BSV’s domestic specialty business continued to deliver steady double-digit growth,” Juneja said.

Domestic business drives growth; exports jump 33%

Domestic revenue, excluding consumer healthcare, rose 15.9% YoY to ₹3,428 crore, driven by double-digit growth in both Mankind Pharma’s domestic business and Bharat Serums and Vaccines (BSV), the company said.

Consumer healthcare revenue increased 1.2% YoY to ₹229 crore. The company attributed the muted growth to slower category offtake across the industry and regional weakness in eastern and southern markets. However, it gained market share in key brands, including Manforce and Preganews.

Modern trade and e-commerce accounted for 18% of the consumer healthcare business in Q2 FY27, up from 12% a year earlier, supported by 55% growth. Secondary sales of Preganews and Ovanews grew 14% and 10%, respectively.

Exports rose 32.7% YoY to ₹681 crore, supported by growth in the international businesses of Mankind Pharma and BSV. The company launched one new product in the US during the quarter, taking its total number of launched products in the market to 50.

Juneja also said the acquisition of Armed Cell Therapeutics marked Mankind Pharma’s strategic entry into next-generation CAR-T therapies, strengthening its research and development capabilities for future growth.

Ahead of the results, Mankind Pharma shares settled 3.83% higher at ₹2,302 on the BSE.
