Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri today said that Pakistan has violated the ceasefire arrived at earlier in the day between India and Pakistan, and urged Pakistan to deal with the situation with “seriousness”. Misri also said the Indian armed forces have been instructed to deal with the violations strongly.

“For the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the understanding arrived at earlier between the director general of military operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan. This is a breach of the understanding arrived at earlier today. The armed forces are giving an adequate and appropriate response to these violations. We have taken a very serious notice of these violations. We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility,” Misri said a short while ago.

“The armed forces are maintaining a strong vigil on the situation. They have been given instructions to deal strongly with any instances of the repetition of the violations along the international border and the line of control,” Misri added.

It may be noted that the ceasefire, announced earlier today by US President Donald Trump and confirmed by India, did not even last for more than a couple of hours, with rogue drones being reportedly sighted at various locations alongside in Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat.
