Parle Biscuits has appointed George Kovoor as its Chief Executive Officer, effective today, i.e. September 1, 2026, strengthening its leadership team as the company looks to build on its existing business and pursue its next phase of growth.

Kovoor is the first-ever CEO appointed by Parle Biscuits,marking a significant shift in the company’s leadership structure after decades of being run by the promoter family.

From PepsiCo to Parle

Kovoor joins Parle with more than three decades of experience at PepsiCo, where he worked across consumer businesses and markets. The appointment comes as Parle continues to navigate changing consumer preferences and expand its presence in domestic and international markets.

Kovoor has spent over 30 years at PepsiCo, gaining experience across consumer businesses and markets. His career included leadership responsibilities across India and international markets, giving him experience in managing large consumer-facing businesses.

Parle Biscuits was founded in 1929 in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Its portfolio includes Parle-G, Monaco, Krackjack, Hide & Seek and Melody. The company describes Parle-G as the world’s largest-selling biscuit brand by volume.

The company has a distribution network reaching more than 75 lakh retail outlets across India and has an expanding international presence across Asia, Africa and other markets.

Kovoor’s appointment is effective immediately and is aimed at strengthening Parle’s leadership as it seeks to build on its established brands, capabilities and distribution network.

The appointment comes amid reports that Parle Products is exploring a public listing. As per media reports , the Chauhan family-promoted company is eyeing a $1 billion-plus IPO next year at a targeted valuation of more than $10.5 billion. The report said Kotak Mahindra Capital, Axis Capital and HSBC Securities had been picked as advisers, although the size and valuation could change depending on market conditions.
