PwC India launches scholarship

PwC India Chairperson Sanjeev Krishan has highlighted the firm’s PwC India Aspiring Women Leaders Scholarship, an initiative aimed at supporting young women pursuing engineering and helping them gain greater exposure to the professional world.

In a LinkedIn post, Krishan said the next generation is challenging the status quo, questioning conventions, and adapting rapidly through reskilling and upskilling. He said organisations and leaders have a responsibility to support this growth.

“As we work towards building a #ViksitBharat, it is our responsibility to create an environment in which talent can flourish and potential can translate into progress,” Krishan said.

The scholarship has been designed to give young women pursuing engineering access to mentorship, industry exposure and resources to help them pursue their ambitions beyond the classroom.

Krishan said the participation of women would be critical to building a stronger future for India, noting that women make up nearly half of the country’s population.

The initiative is also intended to help recipients understand the opportunities available to them in the workplace and build a path towards their professional aspirations.

“Opening doors is not just about helping someone take the next step academically but helping them create a place for themselves in the world they aspire to shape,” Krishan said.

PwC India said the scholarship will be continued year after year, with each new cohort representing another set of possibilities.

Krishan said the initiative would contribute not only to India’s capable talent pool but also to the country’s future more broadly.
