Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu has taken a firm position on the ongoing disruption across IndiGo’s network, saying in a post on X, "We have formed a committee which will inquire into all this so that they can establish where things went wrong and who did it wrong. We are going to take necessary action on that also. This thing shouldn't be left unattended. We are taking strict action on this, so that whoever was responsible into this needs to pay for it."
His message reflected growing frustration among passengers, many of whom were dealing with delays, cancellations, and last-minute changes.
Over the past few days, IndiGo passengers have been openly sharing their anger as the airline cancelled more than 1,000 flights in recent days, while many others were delayed. The disruption continued into today, stretching the travel plans of thousands of people.
The crisis has also prompted strong intervention from the government. Yesterday, the civil aviation minister met with senior IndiGo officials and voiced clear displeasure over how the airline handled the rollout of new crew rostering norms. According to the minister, the airline had ample time to prepare for the regulatory change but still failed to ensure a smooth transition.

He has directed IndiGo to urgently restore normal operations and warned the airline not to increase fares during this period. The government has also cautioned against any predatory pricing while passengers remain stranded.
Meanwhile, social media has been full of complaints. One X user wrote: "To begin with please ask IndiGo to make full refund to all desirous passengers already booked with them directly or through MMT. They're still not doing this on their app or website. Refund our money so that we can make alternate arrangements in time." Another user added: "Investigation and punishment. There needs to be action on this."
Meanwhile, Indian Railways has added 116 extra coaches to 37 trains to help passengers impacted by IndiGo flight cancellations.
