As India continues to be the world’s fastest-growing major economy, Fortune India presents its special issue on the nation’s Top 100 Billionaires. Curated in partnership with Waterfield Advisors, this year’s list reflects a slight decline in the number of dollar billionaires—from 185 to 182—even as the entry threshold for the Top 100 rose to ₹24,283 crore, up from ₹22,739 crore last year. From stalwarts like Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and the Mistry family, who continue to lead the list, to major gainers such as Sunil Mittal and Kumar Mangalam Birla, the issue goes beyond the numbers to explore the resilience, ambition, and strategic foresight that define India’s wealth creators. Read their compelling stories in the latest issue of Fortune India. On stands now.
In total, the report covers more than 18,000 titles — representing 99% of all viewing on Netflix — and nearly 100 billion hours viewed.
Over 60% of Netflix titles released between January and June 2023 also appeared on the company’s weekly 'Top 10' lists, says Netflix.
Ginny & Georgia: Season 2 was ranked second globally at 665 million hours viewed globally. The other shows in the top 10 included The Glory: Season 1 (622,800,000 hours), Wednesday: Season 1 (507,700,000); Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (503,000,000); You: Season 4 (440,600,000); La Reina del Sur: Season 3 (429,600,000); Outer Banks: Season 3 (402500000); Ginny & Georgia: Season 1 (302,100,000); and FUBAR: Season 1 (266,200,000).
Talking about the emerging trends, Netflix says these shows mark the strength of returning favourites like Ginny & Georgia, Alice in Borderland, The Marked Heart, Outer Banks, You, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, XO Kitty and film sequels Murder Mystery 2 and Extraction 2.
The trends also show the popularity of new series like The Night Agent, The Diplomat, Beef, The Glory, Alpha Males, FUBAR and Fake Profile, which generated huge audiences and fandoms, claims the OTT major.
The company says success on Netflix comes in all shapes and sizes and is not determined by hours viewed alone. "We have enormously successful movies and TV shows with both lower and higher hours viewed. It’s all about whether a movie or TV show thrilled its audience — and the size of that audience relative to the economics of the title."
In its ‘Weekly Top 10’ report, Netflix says ‘Leave the World Behind’ has debuted as the most-watched title of the week with 41.7M views.
