Bhavish Aggarwal-led Ola Electric will commence deliveries of its flagship electric scooter Ola S1 Air beginning July. Aggarwal in a tweet said, "Test drove the first S1 Air Vehicles!! Loving them. Coming to you in July." However, he has not revealed the arrival date of Ola S1 Air.

The development comes months after the two-wheeler maker launched Ola S1 Air in October last year. According to the company's website, Ola S1 Air is available at an ex-showroom price of ₹84,999, with the top variant priced at ₹1,09,000. The electric two-wheeler has three variants — base, mid and top variants. While the base variant of the Ola S1 Air is priced at ₹84,999, its mid variant is available at an ex-showroom price of ₹99,999. Customers can also avail of the EMI of ₹1,999/ month, with pre-approved loans at just 12% per annum.

Features of Ola S1 Air

Ola S1 Air comes with a palette of ten vivid colours available in a glossy and matte finish. These colours are Anthracite grey (Matte), Coral Red (Glossy), Marshmallow (Glossy), Millenial Pink (Glossy), Jet Black (Glossy), Liquid Silver (Glossy), Porcelain White (Glossy), Neo Mint (Glossy), Matte Black (Matte) and Midnight Blue (Matte). With a generous boot space of 36L, it has an iconic headlamp.

The electric two-wheeler has a fluid design, with superior alloy wheels, monocoloured panels and enclosed suspension. The electric scooter has a grab rail, side step and sculpted seating for pillion riders.

Ola S1 Air has a certified range of 165 km, a peak motor power of 4.5 kw (kilowatt) and top speed of 85 km/hr. The electric scooter is available in Eco, Normal and Sports models. The charging time of Ola S1 Air is 4.5 hours. Equipped with the MoveOS 3, Ola S1 Air comes with 2kwh, 3kwh, and 4kwh battery. This is a major rejig from the company’s maiden model, which had 2.5 kwh battery with 101 km. For 2kwh battery, the ARAI range is 85 km IDC with a top speed of 85km/hr, whereas for 3kmh battery, the IDC range is 125km. For 4kwh battery, Ola S1 Air has an IDC range of 165km.

Dominance in EV market

The launch of Ola S1 Air is further likely to strengthen Ola’s presence in the electric two-wheeler market in the country. In FY23, Ola Electric emerged as among the top electric two-wheeler manufacturers. Of the total 670,000 electric two-wheelers registrations, Ola Electric accounted for a majority of 22% shares with 1,51,294 units.

In April, the electric two-wheeler sales by Ola Electric stood at 21,845 units as against 21,389 units in March this year.
