Plan of Action
Today, many people have become aware of the importance of financial planning in their life. And hence, the country has witnessed the opening of thousands of Demat accounts during the last year. But before investing, people must have an accurate understanding of stocks and trading. This is where Reliance Securities comes in and helps these investors make informed decisions. “We make the whole process simple for our customers. We have built trust with our customers and ensure that there is the ease of onboarding as we are a retail franchise. We are very focused on having a sustainable investor’s trust,” says Lav.
The company aims to provide equitable investment opportunities to all its customers that mean asset class across the financial markets. “We know it’s a difficult task, but we want to provide that access to each of the retail customers. We strongly believe that providing access is the key and all the technology we are putting together is to achieve that purpose,” he explains.
Over the last decade, we have seen that physical model getting disrupted and transforming into digital. In the coming years in India, the disruption within the digital will start happening. This means that the underlying technologies like Blockchain will completely change the business model of many companies. “We are using new-age technologies in our front-end digital automation to make transactions seamless. Every transaction has an audit trail which helps us to build trust with our customers and last-mile connectivity,” he asserts.
Speaking about the stock market, he says, “Since the last 18-20 months, the market has seen the upside, and that is where the new investors have come in. These investors will go through a certain cycle of the market and will also witness some corrections. At Reliance Securities, we ensure that our customers have a robust portfolio that caters to their respective needs.”
To achieve this, the company has transformed the whole business model from transaction-based to relationship-based or engagement-based model. They call it systematic digital engagement where the company is always there for its customers to provide value to them. “We ensure that we know the clear objective of our customers with their time horizon and provide the advisor whom they can trust and achieve their goal,” he adds.
Leadership Skills for Business Success
Leadership skill is an important aspect for the development of any organization. A good leader makes everything work seamlessly and deals with challenges head-on. During the pandemic, unlike other companies, Reliance Securities did not do any salary cuts, instead, they gave increments and paid bonuses.
Lav says, “When you do something which is beyond the expectation, you build trust with people. It is one of the biggest decisions that one can make as a leader to build a sustainable business. People are the biggest asset of the company. They not only build technology but also build processes and distribution. Once we take care of our people, we build a robust ecosystem which is very important for our business.”
Lav Chaturvedi concludes by giving advice to investors, “Don’t get driven by the madness of the market. Focus on your investment objectives and diversify your portfolio. One must have patience as there is no shortcut to success.”
