Movies to watch this week: From Saiyaara to Coolie, pan-India hits to stream on OTT platforms

Saiyaara

The film revolves around musician and singer Krish Kapoor who is struggling with the trade-off between quality and quantity in the music industry, until he meets the love of his life Vaani Batra who helps him write and rediscover himself. However, the love story comes with its own perils from the past.

This Mohit Suri film, that broke the records on the box office during its theatrical run, features Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda in key roles.

Streaming on Netflix from September 12.

Coolie

This action-drama thriller follows the story of a retired coolie, Deva, finds his peaceful life disrupted when he begins investigating the mysterious death of his friend. His search for the truth pulls him into the dark underworld of a powerful crime syndicate led by Simon.

Another film that saw strong positive response in the theatres featuring the mighty star Rajinikanth, features Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Rachita Ram.

This horror-comedy film from Karnataka is set in a cheerful village filled with joy and laughter, until the village sees a sudden arrival of a devil that throws the entire community into chaos.

Originally made in Kannada, the movie is also available in Malayalam and Telugu, not in Hindi but has subtitles. The film features Shaneel Gautham, JP Thuminad, Sandhya Arakere, Prakash K Thuminadu, Deepak Rai Panaje, and Mime Ramdas.

Rambo in Love

This Telugu workplace rom-com series tells the story of an entrepreneur who is struggling to keep his company afloat. Desperate for funding, he is relieved when an investor steps in—until he realises, she is his ex-girlfriend, the very woman he once betrayed.

The cast includes Kavya Kashetti, Achuth Nandha, Bhargav Writes, Pavan Yatagani, Appaji Ambarisha, and Keshav Deepak. Originally shot in Telugu, the series is available in Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil on JioStar from Friday.

Two best friends set out to carve a space for themselves in the male-dominated craft beer industry by launching their own startup. What follows is a comedy-drama that blends themes of female entrepreneurship, friendship, and resourcefulness. Available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the series promises a lighthearted yet inspiring take on ambition and resilience. In her debut series, Tamannaah Bhatia is starring alongside Diana Penty. The cast also features Jaaved Jaffery, Nakuul Mehta, Neeraj Kabi, Shweta Tiwari, Rannvijay Singha, and Sufi Motiwala. This movie is produced under the Dharmatic Entertainment banner by Karan Johar and Adar Poonawaala.
