CII launches Sankalp Se Siddhi initiative

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and India@75 Foundation, jointly with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, organised a conference on ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ with the theme 'New India, New Resolve' on Thursday.

The conference, which aims to commemorate the 75th year of Independence, was held in Bengaluru.

With an objective to celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the conference convened important stakeholders to deliberate on the country’s achievement in different areas of development and draw a roadmap for a morally, economically and technologically advanced India by 2047.

The convention was addressed by senior ministers of the government. It also brought together decision makers, policy makers, think tanks, industry leaders, and civil society members on one platform to navigate a successful growth path for a new India.

“It is an honour for India@75 Foundation and CII to host this very special convention. We are especially privileged that Hon’ble Amit Shah could spare time to guide us today,” Dr Sanjiv Goenka, chairman of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group and India@75 Foundation, says while addressing the conference.

“This not only reflects the high importance given to developing the vision for India@100 but also mirrors the government’s very strong intention to involve all stakeholders and particularly industry in the Amrit Kaal mission. There could be no finer mind to contribute to the blueprint of a New India,” Dr. Goenka adds.

“It also takes me back to 2008, when CII led a public visioning exercise to draw up an aspirational picture of India in its 75th year. The blueprint that emerged came to be known as India@75 and spawned the industry-led eponymous movement that seeks to shape such a country by 2022,” says Dr Goenka.

“I am proud to apprise you that India@75 Foundation jointly with CII has been working to accelerate India’s development journey by catalysing important collaboration between industry and other stakeholder groups in areas critical to the nation’s development such as volunteering initiative, functional literacy programme and national volunteering grid, etc.,” he says.

Getting the informal sector into the fold of digitisation can be a gamechanger for the sector and the country, and this is exactly what the Functional Literacy Programme of India@75 Foundation does, adds Dr. Goenka.

The foundation has also been championing the cause for facilitating and encouraging volunteerism to enable larger participation and collaborative efforts. It has been organising National Youth Volunteerism Summit in collaboration with the government. The 9th edition of National Volunteering Week in January this year saw participation from 12,839 volunteers who clocked in 1,70,477 volunteering hours and reached 11.5 million beneficiaries in over 200 locations across India.

CII and India@75 have already commenced the visioning exercise for India@100.

“India’s 75th year is a good time to come together and commit to rededicating ourselves to the progress and development of our nation,” Dr Goenka says. “There is much more that we can do at the individual level and collective level if we can come together as one and strive for inclusive and sustainable growth.”
