NSE Nifty50’s futures contract, GIFT Nifty, has reported an all-time high monthly turnover of $103.45 billion in the month of October, surpassing the previous record of $102.35 billion set in May this year. 

Formerly known as the SGX Nifty, as it used to be traded on the Singapore Exchange, it was rebranded as GIFT Nifty after it migrated to the NSE International Exchange (NSEIX) in 2023.

Since then, GIFT Nifty has witnessed a total cumulative volume of over 52.71 million contracts with a total cumulative turnover of $2.39 trillion till October 30, 2025. 

“This milestone reflects the growing global interest and trust in the GIFT Nifty as a benchmark for India’s growth story. We are glad to witness the success of GIFT Nifty and express our sincere gratitude to all the participants for their overwhelming support and for making GIFT Nifty a successful contract,” the statement read. 

At the time of reporting, the Gift Nifty futures index rebounded from the red to trade at a premium of 51 points or 0.20%, at 26,093. 

The markets opened in the negative, but soon reversed gears to trade in an uptick. Nifty50 reclaimed the 25,900 mark, rising 38.90 points or 0.15%, to 25,916.75, while Sensex was at 84,572.60, advancing 168.14 points or 0.20%. Leading the bourses were Eicher Motors, Bajaj Finance and Maruti Suzuki, while pharmaceutical companies—Cipla and Max Healthcare Institute, along with NTPC, were the major laggards.
