Indian equity benchmark indices, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50, are poised for a muted start on Monday, undermining firm cues from global markets. At 8:30 AM, GIFT Nifty futures were trading 3 points lower at 24,777, indicating a flat start for the Sensex and Nifty. The market participant will keep a close eye on India' industrial and manufacturing production data for May and global developments such as geopolitical tensions and U.S. tariff. Adding to it, domestic factors like monsoon progress, crude oil prices, and FII activity are expected to set the tone for the Indian share market.

Ajit Mishra of Religare Broking recommended investors to maintain a cautious approach until there is more clarity. In the meantime, market participants can consider selectively accumulating stocks that are showing relative strength amid the volatility, with a preference for large-cap and stronger mid-cap names.

Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex surged 1,650.73 points, or 2%, to end at 84,058.90, and the NSE Nifty climbed 525.4 points, or 2%, to settle at 25,637.80, as ease in geo-political concerns and fall in crude prices boosted sentiments. In the past four sessions, the Sensex added 2,162 points, while the Nifty50 jumped 2.7%.
