The total number of coronavirus cases in India rose to 195, as Prime minister Narendra Modi appealed to citizens to stay at home and practise social distancing. He also asked people to stop panic buying in an address to the nation on Thursday.

Meanwhile, people who are on the streets can be seen wearing masks, while cinemas and malls have either been shut or are deserted.
