Covid-19 has battered the Indian auto industry, sending many big players reeling. The only light at the end of the tunnel, however, has been the SUV segment. As India emerges from a months-long lockdown, SUVs have become the flavour of the season, helping the automobile industry slowly limp back to normalcy.

This, in turn, has led to a fierce competition amongst brands for the top spot in the SUV segment. The Sonet from South Korean automaker, Kia Motors, seems to be leading the way. It already has registered impressive sales figures for the month of September. But other brands are not far behind and the competition is only getting hotter as the festival months roll on. Here are some of the top brands fighting it out in the arena.
