After the separation of the Godrej Group in May last year, deciding the way forward for Jamshyd Godrej’s Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) was on the shoulders of his niece Nyrika Holkar. Within six months, she came up with a plan to revamp the holding company, Godrej & Boyce (G&B). She regrouped businesses under three clusters—consumer-centric, nation-first (aerospace and advanced engineering), and future-focussed (green hydrogen, zinc-manganese battery, and recycled building materials). Holkar has set a target to improve GEG’s revenue to ₹20,000 crore by FY27, from ₹16,379 crore in FY24. The locks-to-rockets engineering powerhouse is executing a major transformation by offering IoT-enabled connected home solutions through its locks business and AI-powered washing machines and air-conditioners, besides foraying into zinc-manganese batteries and thermo-chips. “Every business has a road map for the next three years. The focus will be on R&D and delivering seamless consumer experiences,” says Holkar, who joined the board in 2017.
