Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), a textile trading enterprise turned India’s largest private sector conglomerate, was founded by Dhirubai H Ambani in 1957. The company is currently headed by Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh D Ambani. RIL has established a presence in refineries, petrochemicals, new energy, digital services (Jio), retail, and media & entertainment sectors through its diversified product portfolio. Reliance Industries’ IPO took place in 1977, making it a first-of-a-kind textile company to be listed. It was also the first Indian company to exceed $200 billion in market capitalization. Reliance’s Oil-to-Chemicals (O2C) division is its primary revenue generator, headlining its dominance in the energy industry.
