Vaishali Nigam Sinha, co-founder of Nasdaq-listed green energy company ReNew, is one of India’s frontline warriors in the country’s quest for pole position in the global clean energy and green transition efforts. As co-chair, Finance & Infrastructure Taskforce of B20, (the forum that connects the business community with G20 countries) and co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Clean Air Alliance, Sinha has been at the forefront of some of the critical conversations shaping global policies and investments for the future of climate action. “From delivering on our commitments through our portfolio of over 150-plus clean energy projects to setting new benchmarks, we remain aligned with the government’s target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030,” she says. ReNew crossed the 10 GW-operational capacity milestone in 2024, and has a strong portfolio of 17.4 GW. “We have a strong project pipeline of 24 GW and expect to add 1.9-2.4 GW installations in FY25. In the past year, we not only focussed on deploying more renewable, but also on strengthening our supply chain with a 4 GW module plant in Jaipur, 2.4 GW module capacity at Dholera, Gujarat, and another 2.5GW cell plant at Dholera,” says Sinha, who also serves as the chair of ReNew Foundation.
