Vedanta is a leading global natural resources and technology conglomerate operating across India, South Africa, Liberia and Namibia. Anil Agarwal founded the Vedanta Group in 1976 and has over four decades of entrepreneurial and mining experience. Vedanta Limited's registered and corporate offices are located in Mumbai. In 2023, Vedanta announced a strategic restructuring plan to demerge its diversified business into six separate entities. The demerger resulted in the creation of distinct companies specializing in aluminum, oil and gas, power, steel, base metals, and ferrous. Vedanta's aluminium unit is the country's biggest producer of the metal, while Hindustan Zinc, a unit of the company is the largest zinc producer in India.
