Nothing has officially launched its much-anticipated Nothing Phone (3a) series. The smartphone brings significant upgrades over last year’s Phone (2a) lineup.
The new Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro models now come with larger displays, improved cameras, and faster charging while maintaining Nothing’s signature design philosophy.
Bigger Display, Brighter Screen
The Nothing Phone (3a) series features a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, ensuring a smooth and responsive experience.
With a peak brightness of 3000 nits, the screen remains clearly visible even in direct sunlight. Panda Glass protection adds durability to the display, making it more resistant to scratches and accidental drops.
Performance and Software
Both the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and an additional 8GB of virtual RAM. The devices run on Android 15 with Nothing OS 3.1, and the company has committed to providing three major Android updates and six years of security patches, ensuring long-term software support.
Camera Upgrades: Telephoto Lens and AI Features
A major highlight of the Nothing Phone (3a) series is the introduction of telephoto lenses. Both models feature a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The Phone (3a) includes a 50MP 2x telephoto camera, while the Pro variant steps up with a 50MP Sony LYT-600 3x periscope telephoto lens capable of 6x lossless zoom and 60x ultra zoom. The front cameras have also been upgraded, with the Phone (3a) featuring a 32MP sensor and the 3a Pro sporting a high-resolution 50MP sensor for detailed selfies and crisp video calls.
Refined Design with Enhanced Durability
Nothing has transitioned from a polycarbonate back to a more premium glass back, giving the phones a sleek and sturdy feel. Both models now carry an IP64 rating, making them resistant to dust and splashes. The Glyph interface remains a signature feature, with three separations and 26 individually controlled LED zones, customizable for notifications, volume indicators, and even third-party apps like Uber and Zomato.
New Essential Key and AI-Powered Features
The addition of an Essential Key below the power button enhances usability. This key grants access to ‘Essential Space,’ an AI-driven hub designed for note-taking and content organization. Users can capture and store ideas with a single press, record voice notes with a long press, and double-tap to quickly access saved content.
Battery and Charging
Both models pack a 5000mAh battery, now supporting 50W PD fast charging. This allows users to charge the phone up to 50% in just 19 minutes and achieve a full charge in under an hour. Nothing claims the battery retains over 90% capacity even after 1,200 charge cycles, ensuring longevity. However, wireless charging is still absent from this generation.

The Nothing Phone (3a) series will be available starting from March 11 onwards, on e-commerce sites like Amazon, Flipkart, Flipkart Minutes, along with offline stores like Vijay Sales, Croma, and other retailers.
