
Govt announces MSP for Kharif season crops
The MSP for bajra was revised to ₹2,500 per quintal from ₹2,350 a quintal last year. The MSP for tur has been raised to ₹7,000 a quintal from ₹6,600 a quintal a year before.

The committee will also look into zero budget-based farming and explore the possibilities of changing crop patterns
The farmer group demands a law to make procurement at MSP rates, using the formula by the Swaminathan Commission.
Farmer groups welcome the decision but have said the demand for a statutory guarantee of remunerative prices for all agricultural produce for all farmers remains unfulfilled.
The Reserve Bank of India and the Ministry of Finance will have to come out with confidence building measures to calm market sentiment.
