Updated van platform introduces design, engineering changes across ambulance, school bus and cargo segments

Force Motors Limited, which witnessed a decline in its Q4 FY26 net profit, launched the Traveller N range, an updated version of its light commercial vehicle platform, as the company moves to replace its existing Traveller line-up.
The new range will be deployed across key use-cases such as ambulances, school buses and delivery vans. The company said future production will be aligned to the new platform, indicating a phased discontinuation of the current-generation models.
The Traveller platform remains a key product for Force Motors, with the company estimating a market share of over 70% in the segment. The vehicle is widely used in institutional and fleet applications, including healthcare and school transport.
Bookings for the new range are scheduled to begin from mid-May across dealerships.
Product changes across cabin and exterior
The Traveller N introduces changes to the driver cockpit and passenger cabin, including a digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch infotainment unit. Other updates include redesigned seating, modified HVAC system and changes aimed at reducing noise and vibration levels.
On the exterior, the model features a revised front fascia with daytime running lights (DRLs) and LED turn indicators, along with changes to the rear design. The company has also introduced a modular roof structure across variants.
Structural, manufacturing updates
The updated range incorporates changes to the body structure, including re-engineered sheet metal and a reduction in body joints. The company said these modifications are intended to improve structural integrity and consistency in manufacturing.
Force Motors has also deployed automation, including robotics and automated door hemming, in the production process.
Commenting on the development, Managing Director Prasan Firodia said the changes were based on feedback from vehicle operators and end users, with a focus on usability and operating efficiency.
The Traveller N will continue to be powered by a BS-VI Stage 2 compliant FM 2.6 CR engine. The company is also offering service-linked programmes such as extended warranty and vehicle tracking through its telematics platform.
