Motherson Sumi Wiring India Ltd (MSWIL) reported a strong topline performance in the fourth quarter of FY26, with revenue rising 32.6% year-on-year to ₹3,335 crore, driven by robust OEM demand and ramp-up of greenfield facilities. The company continued to outpace broader industry growth, supported by its deep integration with leading passenger vehicle manufacturers.

However, profitability growth remained subdued during the quarter. EBITDA stood at ₹274 crore, up just 1.1% YoY, while net profit (PAT) rose 1.2% to ₹167 crore, as elevated copper prices and lag in pass-through to customers weighed on margins.

MSWIL Chairman Vivek Chaand Sehgal stated that the performance reflects operational resilience and sustained customer trust, while ongoing greenfield investments are expected to support long-term growth.

Revenue momentum backed by OEM demand, scale expansion

MSWIL’s growth was underpinned by strong order flows from automakers, with the company supplying to 9 of the top 10 selling passenger vehicle models in India. The ramp-up of new capacities and greenfield projects further supported volume expansion during the quarter.

The company also saw increasing traction in electric vehicle (EV) programs, with EVs contributing 8.6% to Q4 revenue. This reflects a gradual shift in product mix towards future mobility solutions, positioning the company to benefit from the ongoing electrification trend.

Margins under pressure amid elevated commodity costs

Despite strong revenue growth, margin expansion remained constrained due to persistently high copper prices. The company highlighted that time-lag in price pass-through mechanisms with customers impacted profitability in the near term.

For the full year FY26, EBITDA rose 6.4% to ₹1,061 crore, while PAT increased 3.1% to ₹625 crore, indicating modest earnings growth relative to topline expansion.

The company maintained its debt-free status, underscoring a strong balance sheet even as it continues to invest in capacity expansion.

Looking ahead, MSWIL remains focused on scaling operations, deepening OEM relationships, and expanding its EV portfolio, even as commodity volatility and supply-side pressures remain key monitorables.
