Mahindra Holidays CFO to take over from veteran executive K. N. Vaidyanathan as the conglomerate sharpens focus on governance, risk management and internal controls.
Mahindra Group on Thursday announced the appointment of Vimal Agarwal as its Group Chief Internal Auditor with effect from July 1, 2026, as the diversified conglomerate strengthens its governance and risk management framework amid expanding business operations across sectors.
Agarwal, who currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd., will also be part of the Group’s Senior Management Personnel. He will succeed K N Vaidyanathan, Executive Vice-President and Group Chief Internal Auditor, who is set to retire on June 30 after a four-decade-long professional career, including more than 14 years with the Mahindra Group.
Announcing the appointment, Anand G. Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, said Agarwal brings significant experience in finance, governance and business strategy, alongside a strong track record in strengthening internal controls and governance frameworks.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Vimal Agarwal as Group Chief Internal Auditor. Vimal brings 25 years of experience across finance, governance and business strategy, and is recognised for strengthening governance frameworks, enhancing internal controls and enabling Boards and leadership teams in shaping and executing growth strategies,” Mahindra said.
He also acknowledged Vaidyanathan’s contribution to the Group, thanking him for his leadership and service over the years.
A Chartered Accountant and MBA by qualification, Agarwal has over 25 years of experience across multinational corporations and listed Indian companies. Prior to joining the Mahindra Group, he held several leadership roles at PepsiCo India, where he worked across financial operations, analytics and supply chain finance functions.
Within the Mahindra Group, Agarwal first served as CFO of Mahindra Lifespaces, where he worked on fundraising initiatives, digital transformation and private equity joint ventures, while supporting business scale-up and market capitalisation growth.
Over the last two years, as CFO of Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd., he has led initiatives related to financial planning, investor relations and operational performance optimisation.
