Goenka, Chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, said that Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and his ministry let their achievements do the talking.

Dr. Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, on Tuesday lauded the thrust provided by the central government in the field of education in the country. Goenka said the achievements made by the ministry of education, such as the National Education Policy (NEP) and others, speak volumes about the central government’s vision.
Addressing the CII Annual Business Summit 2026 in the presence of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Goenka said, “It is a special privilege to welcome the man who has distinguished himself in whatever he has done in his current role as minister of education in the government of India.”
Goenka said Pradhan has brought about a transformation. “A transformation, which screams through the results, but he does not talk about it. The department is quiet, and they let their achievements talk,” Goenka added.
“National Education Policy, Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI), internationalisation of education, the establishment of foreign university campuses which gives Indian students the best of world knowledge… I can go on and on,” Goenka said, adding that these initiatives are driven by thought, vision, and purpose.
Later, Goenka posted on social media platform X that India's education story is being re-written. “The ambition is real. The reforms are in motion. And I genuinely believe this is the moment India's education system transforms, not just on paper, but for the first-generation learner in a small town who has never had access to what they deserve. What will get us there is what builds anything worth building: efficiency, consistency, and the discipline to execute without compromise,” he posted.
The PM-SHRI scheme was approved and announced by the Union Cabinet in September 2022. It is an initiative launched by the government of India to enhance the quality of education in existing schools, transforming them into model institutions that embody the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020. The scheme targets over 14,500 schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas, and focusses on upgrading infrastructure, integrating technology, and implementing modern pedagogical approaches, according to the ministry of education.
“Key features of PM-SHRI include state-of-the-art facilities such as smart classrooms, well-equipped labs, and sports amenities. The curriculum emphasises experiential learning, critical thinking, and inclusivity, ensuring access for students from diverse backgrounds. Sustainability is also a priority, with schools promoting eco-friendly practices like solar energy and rainwater harvesting,” said a note from the ministry about the scheme.
The National Education Policy was introduced by the central government in 2020 to transform India’s education system into a transparent and quality-driven framework by 2030.
