Škoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) announced that it has manufactured over two million vehicles in the span of 25 years since it started operations in India. According to the statement, October 2025 emerged as the most successful month since the Group’s formation, as GST reforms were introduced that month, thereby bringing down the prices of vehicles.

The milestone number includes over 500,000 vehicles built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, designed and developed in India by local engineering teams, which underpins the Škoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus models.

The last 500,000 units were produced in a timeframe of 3.5 years, and more than 700,000 vehicles were exported, putting India on the manufacturing map, under the vision of “Made in India, Driven by the World”. These vehicles have been shipped from India to markets across Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Škoda Auto India recorded its highest-ever 10-month performance, more than doubling year-on-year to reach 61,607 units in 2025. Volkswagen India saw its highest-ever monthly sales for the Virtus in October, which has captured over 40% share in 40 months in the premium sedan segment.

The group operates two facilities in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. With an investment of nearly €600 million, the Pune plant was established to support higher volumes and deeper localisation. For SAVWIPL, there is continuous focus on cost optimisation and market performance, while building on its local strengths.

The group’s premium and luxury brands also made a segue into the Indian markets, with Bentley beginning a new chapter with its operations, including sales, marketing, and aftersales, now housed under Bentley India, as an operational division within SAVWIPL, accompanied by new showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Porsche India added more than 4,400 customers over the past six years and expanded its footprint to 13 points of sale across the country. Audi celebrated multiple milestones: the RS Q8 won Performance Car of the Year at the 2025 AutoX Awards, and Audi Approved: plus posted 5% growth between January and September 2025. The brand also strengthened India’s EV ecosystem with over 6,500 charging points installed under Phase II of the segment-first 'Charge My Audi' initiative.

SAVWIPL’s super-luxury marque, Lamborghini, delivered 113 cars, a 10% increase over 2023. The launch of the Temerario in India, following the Revuelto and Urus SE, marks the completion of Lamborghini’s hybrid transition in line with its Direzione Cor Tauri strategy.

Piyush Arora, CEO and Managing Director, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said, “The 2-million mark is the outcome of consistent investment in people, technology and local capability. It also speaks to the exceptional trust Indian customers place in our six brands. Indian buyers are among the most informed and discerning in the world. They evaluate every strength and every limitation before choosing a Volkswagen, Škoda, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini or Bentley, and their confidence strengthens our resolve. This achievement highlights how closely we listen to our customers and how their evolving expectations shape the products we design and build here, with the same quality, precision and trust that define the Group worldwide.”
