Ather enters mass-market e-scooter segment with Konarc at ₹99,999

Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy on Saturday unveiled the Konarc, a new mass-market electric scooter priced from ₹99,999, as it looks to widen its presence beyond the premium and family scooter segments.
Launched at the company’s annual Community Day on August 29, the Konarc marks Ather’s entry into a more competitive segment of the electric two-wheeler market, where it will take on models from TVS Motor Company and Bajaj Auto.
The Konarc will be offered in multiple battery and range configurations. The 100-km range variant has been priced at ₹99,999, while the 125-km version will cost ₹1,21,999. Both variants are expected to go on sale in September 2026.
Ather also plans to introduce a 161-km range version, which will be priced at around ₹1,44,999. The company has outlined a longer-term roadmap for the product, with a 200-km range variant scheduled for launch in the third quarter of 2027.

The company is also developing the Konarc Z, which is expected to arrive in the second quarter of 2027 with 125-km and 161-km range options.
The Konarc is the first production model based on Ather’s new EL platform. The company said the platform has been designed to support greater flexibility, scale and manufacturing efficiency and will form the foundation for its future products across segments.
With the latest launch, Ather is adding a third major product family to its portfolio, which currently includes the performance-focused 450 series and the family-oriented Rizta range.
The Konarc adopts a more conventional design and is aimed at mainstream buyers, positioning it between Ather’s existing offerings while opening up access to a larger section of the electric scooter market.
At its starting price of ₹99,999, the Konarc is positioned close to entry-level offerings such as the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak C2501. However, the pricing of the higher-range version also creates competition within Ather’s own portfolio.
The 125-km Konarc, priced at ₹1,21,999, is almost at par with the entry-level Rizta S, which starts at ₹1,21,499. The overlap in pricing suggests that Ather is looking to offer buyers different design and performance choices at similar price points while expanding its reach across a wider range of electric scooter customers.
