Bajaj Auto on Wednesday expanded its electric two-wheeler portfolio with the launch of the Chetak C25, as it looks to strengthen its presence in India’s fast-growing urban electric scooter market amid intensifying competition.
The Chetak C25 will be retailed at ₹91,399 (ex-showroom Delhi) and will be available across Bajaj Auto’s Chetak dealerships nationwide. The battery-powered scooter is positioned as a “city-focused offering” and sits alongside the company’s existing 30 and 35 Series electric scooters.
The launch underlines Bajaj Auto’s strategy to address the sub-₹1 lakh electric scooter category, which has emerged as a key volume driver in India’s two-wheeler EV market.
By expanding the Chetak range at the lower end of the price and performance spectrum, the company is aiming to widen its addressable customer base, including households adding a second scooter for city use.
The Chetak C25 is powered by a 2.5 kWh battery and offers a claimed range of up to 113 km on a single charge. It has a top speed of 55 kmph and can be charged up to 80% in about 2.25 hours, placing it firmly in the daily urban mobility segment rather than performance-oriented use cases.

The scooter features a metal body construction, a key differentiator for the Chetak brand, and includes disc brakes, hill-hold assist and a 25-litre under-seat storage capacity, aimed at practical city riding requirements.
Bajaj Auto currently sells multiple Chetak variants across different price points, as it seeks to defend and grow market share in an electric scooter segment crowded with both established manufacturers and new-age EV startups like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, etc.
Eric Vas, President – Urbanite Business at Bajaj Auto, said the new model is designed for shorter urban trips while retaining the core attributes of the Chetak platform.
