Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ launched at ₹11.45 lakh with BaaS

Mahindra has introduced the BE 6 SPORTEQ, an electric SUV series, with prices starting at ₹11.45 lakh ex-showroom under its Battery as a Service (BaaS) model. Under this option, customers pay ₹3.75 per km for the battery, based on an assumed usage of 60 km a day. The BE 6 SPORTEQ starts at ₹19.45 lakh without BaaS. Deliveries will begin on August 26, coinciding with Onam. The prices exclude the cost of the wall charger and its installation.

Three screens, AI features and multiple editions

The SPORTEQ series is available in eight variants, ONE, TWO, THREE, THREE+, FOUR, FE, FE FOUR and Launch Edition and comes in 12 colour options, including four new shades: Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm and Firestorm Orange Satin. From the TWO variant onwards, the SUV gets a three-screen coast-to-coast display. The Formula E Freedom Edition retains the original two-screen cockpit and signature halo design.

The SUV comes with six TEQ Suites powered by Mahindra’s Artificial Intelligence Architecture (MAIA). TEQ_Talk, built with Google Gemini, acts as a conversational assistant and supports more than 100 core functions and 48 apps, including vehicle controls, navigation, music and news. TEQ_Play adds features such as karaoke, in-car gaming, private audio, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. TEQ_Drive includes Custom Drive Mode, Drift Mode, Tribe Drive and Revive and Revive SOS.

The BE 6 SPORTEQ also gets features such as user-profile auto-detection, Secure360 Pro with live view and audio relay, intrusion alerts, NFC and digital car keys, and a third-screen parental lock. Mahindra said the new software and technology features will also be rolled out to existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners through over-the-air updates in phases from January 2027.

The top-end Launch Edition gets a Graphite Storm exterior and Racing Tan leatherette interior. The Formula E Freedom Edition is positioned as the performance-focused version, with Satin colour finishes, including Rosso Impulso, a Black and Firestorm orange cabin, two-screen cockpit and halo design. Its Acceleration Boost takes it from 0-100 km/h in 6.44 seconds.
