Mahindra & Mahindra will supply 35,000 units of its Scorpio Pik Up light commercial vehicle to Indonesia’s state-owned enterprise Agrinas Pangan Nusantara in 2026, according to a company statement on Tuesday. The contract represents the single largest overseas vehicle order executed by the Indian automaker and will be fulfilled through its manufacturing facility in Nashik.
The company said the size of the Indonesia order exceeds Mahindra’s total vehicle exports in FY25, indicating a sharp step-up in international shipments next year. While Mahindra did not disclose the contract value, the volumes involved suggest a material contribution to its overseas business, which has been a focus area amid uneven demand in the domestic auto market.
The vehicles will be deployed under Indonesia’s Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) initiative, a government-led programme aimed at strengthening village-level cooperatives. The pickup trucks will be used primarily for agricultural logistics, including transporting produce from farms to cooperative collection points and facilitating intra-village movement of goods.

The programme is part of Indonesia’s broader efforts to improve rural supply chains and support food distribution at the local level.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, said the order would lift the company’s international operations. “The volume committed for this partnership will significantly boost our international operations, adding as much as our total export volumes achieved in FY25,” he said.
He added that the Scorpio Pik Up was designed to operate in demanding rural conditions while keeping operating costs low, a key requirement for cooperative and public-sector use.
The vehicles will be produced at Mahindra’s Nashik plant, which supplies pickup models to multiple export markets. The Indonesia order strengthens Mahindra’s presence in Southeast Asia and adds to a growing list of institutional and government-linked contracts in overseas markets.
Industry analysts note that such large fleet orders can help Indian automakers build export scale and deepen engagement in emerging economies where public-sector demand plays a significant role.
