The launch took place in Mumbai on September 30, with customer deliveries commencing the same day. Porsche said the Cayenne Electric combines the performance associated with the brand with the everyday usability and versatility that have traditionally defined the Cayenne range. The company will continue to offer petrol-powered Cayenne variants into the next decade.

Two variants expand Porsche’s EV line-up

With both the Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric available from launch, Porsche is offering Indian customers two fully electric options within the Cayenne range. The company said customers can select between the variants based on their individual performance and ownership requirements.

“The Cayenne enters an important new era with electrification, combining uncompromising Porsche performance with electric mobility while remaining unmistakably Porsche,” said Ashutosh Dixit, Head of Porsche India.

Deliveries begin from September 30

The Mumbai launch introduced the new electric SUV to Indian media and customers, with deliveries starting on the same day. Porsche described the Cayenne Electric as an additional fully electric option within its existing portfolio, broadening the choices available to customers in the Indian market.

“It continues to offer the everyday usability our customers expect from the Cayenne, together with the performance, engineering and driving experience that define our sports cars,” Dixit said. “Its introduction marks an important next chapter for Porsche in India as we continue to broaden the choices available to our customers.”

Petrol versions to continue

While the Cayenne range is entering an electric era, Porsche said it will continue selling petrol-powered versions of the SUV into the next decade. This will allow the Cayenne portfolio to offer customers both conventional and electric powertrain options.

The Cayenne Electric therefore adds to Porsche India’s growing EV portfolio, with the standard electric variant and the higher-performance Turbo Electric being introduced simultaneously. The company said the new model retains the versatility and everyday usability associated with the Cayenne nameplate while introducing all-electric mobility to the range.
