Skoda delivers record year, Kia had best December: Here’s how four-wheeler companies fared in 2025

The Indian automotive sector maintained positive momentum throughout the year and closed 2025 on a high note. Here is a one-stop list of all major companies which released their December sales data, along with their annual performance. 

Skoda India: The Czech manufacturer, which completed 25 years of presence in the country, posted their best-ever yearly performance. The brand closed 2025 with sales of 72,665 cars, registering a 107% year-on-year growth compared to 35,166 units sold in 2024. The made-for-India Kylaq emerged as the key driver, which significantly expanded the brand’s accessibility. During the year, Skoda Auto India also crossed the milestone of selling over 200,000 locally produced cars since 2021. The brand also expanded its footprint to over 325 customer touchpoints across 183 cities.

Renault India: December emerged as one of the strongest months of the year, with Renault India selling 3845 units, marking a 33.4% increase over December 2024.  The company also recorded 18.2% year-on-year growth in H2 CY2025, with Q4 sales growing by 27.3%. The French automaker also refreshed its core products during the year, with the new Triber launched in July and the new Kiger in August. 

Kia India: The company concluded CY2025 on a strong note, registering total wholesale volumes of 280,286 units, marking a 15% annual growth over 245,000 units sold in CY2024. Kia too recorded the best-ever December since inception with sales of 18,659 units, translating into a 105% YoY growth compared to 8,957 units in December 2024. Yet, the manufacturer saw a 27% decline on a MoM basis, as it sold 25,489 units in November. The company’s popular model Sonet crossed the 100,000-unit sales milestone for the second consecutive year.

JSW MG Motors: The company recorded a 19% YoY sales growth at 70,554 units in calendar year 2025 compared to 2024. The company registered 6,500 wholesale units in December 2025, reflecting sustained demand across its internal combustion engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) portfolios, while MG SELECT, the brand's luxury retail channel, witnessed 38% month-on-month wholesale growth. MG also crossed a significant milestone of one lakh units of cumulative EV sales in India.

Mahindra and Mahindra: The company reported overall auto sales of 86,090 vehicles, including exports, for December, representing a 25% growth. In the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 50,946 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 23% and overall, 86,090 vehicles, including exports. The domestic sales for commercial vehicles stood at 24,786, leading to a rise of 34%.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor: The company recorded the highest-ever calendar year sales with a total of 3,88,801 units in 2025, reflecting a growth of 19% compared to the 3,26,329 units sold in CY2024. Out of the 3,88,801 units of total sales in 2025, 3,51,580 units were sold in the domestic market, representing a 17% growth, while 37,221 units were exported, with a 42% growth. In December 2025, the company recorded total sales of 39,333 units compared to 29,529 units in December 2024, marking a YoY growth of 33%. The domestic sales for December 2025 stood at 34,157 units, while exports accounted for 5176 units.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles: Sales in the domestic & international market for Q3 FY26 stood at 171,013 units, compared to 139,829 units during Q3 FY25. It was the fifth consecutive year of record-breaking annual sales, with 587,218 units sold, including the highest-ever EV volumes of 81,125 units in a calendar year. The company achieved the highest-ever quarterly wholesales of 171,103 units, while retail sales/registrations crossed the coveted 200,000 units milestone for the first time. Nexon led the charge as India’s top-selling car in October and November, with sales around 64,000 units. 

Maruti Suzuki: In December, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 217,854 units. Domestic sales reached an all-time high of 182,165 units. The sales to other OEMs were at 9,950 units, and exports were at 25,739 units. India’s largest auto manufacturer closed 2025 with the highest-ever total sales of 2,351,139 units, which also includes the highest-ever exports of 395,648 units. 

Hyundai Motor India: The company recorded total monthly sales of 58,702 units in December 2025 thereby registering YoY growth of 6.6%. This includes monthly domestic sales of 42,416 units and exports of 16,286 units.
