Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Tuesday launched the refreshed Hilux in India, introducing an expanded three-variant lineup that now includes a new entry-level 4X2 GX automatic variant priced at ₹31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has also updated the pickup truck with refreshed styling, a larger infotainment system and new connectivity features while retaining its 2.8-litre diesel engine and off-road capabilities.
Bookings for the new Hilux opened on July 28, while customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second week of August, Toyota said.
Three variants on offer
The refreshed Hilux is available in three automatic variants — the new 4X2 GX AT priced at ₹31.99 lakh, the 4X4 GX AT at ₹33.69 lakh and the top-spec 4X4 VX AT at ₹36.69 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The addition of the rear-wheel-drive variant lowers the entry price into the Hilux range and broadens its appeal beyond off-road-focused buyers.
The pickup continues to be powered by a 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine producing 204 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 4X4 variants retain Toyota's four-wheel-drive system with High (H4) and Low (L4) ranges, Electronic Differential Lock and Downhill Assist Control.
New features and design updates
Toyota has introduced a redesigned front fascia inspired by its "Cyber Sumo" design theme, along with LED lighting, new alloy wheels and additional exterior colour options. Inside, the Hilux gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch combination meter, Toyota i-Connect connected car features, wireless charging and an eight-speaker audio system. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with Brake Assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors and a panoramic view monitor.
Commenting on the launch, Masakazu Yoshimura, chairman, managing director and chief executive officer of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the refreshed Hilux reflects the company's focus on building products that combine "durability, capability and dependability" while catering to evolving customer expectations.
Tadashi Asazuma, deputy managing director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the refreshed Hilux combines bold design with enhanced performance and technology as customers increasingly seek vehicles that support both professional use and lifestyle needs.
