Mumbai-based jewellery designer Poonam Soni and artist Nawaz Modi Singhania reunite to unveil a striking new piece of wearable art: the Brace-Watch -- a bracelet created like a timepiece, framed with miniature paintings and elevated through high-jewellery detailing.
The collaboration rekindles a creative bond that began over a decade ago. In 2011, Soni and Singhania introduced S2, a series of sculptural cuffs featuring galloping horses and leopards that became statement icons. Today, they present a fresh artistic narrative: vivid hand-painted discs portraying tigers, jaguars, and other majestic big cats, encircled by tightly stacked monochromatic baguette-cut stones in rubies, emeralds, and cobalt blues.
“I design visual works of art in jewels,” says Soni. “This bracelet brings a vibrant burst of colours with its closely stacked baguettes embracing Nawaz’s exquisite miniature. The Brace-Watch is more than jewellery -- it is emotion captured through colour, craftsmanship, and movement.”
The trademarked Brace-Watch marks a pivotal shift for Soni. For the first time, she steps beyond exclusively one-of-a-kind heirlooms to create a collectible piece intended for a broader community of art and design lovers. Each bracelet is a visual symphony: layers of hand-selected stones arranged over eight months to achieve a dense, opaque richness balanced with luminous sheen. Rendered in powerful monochrome palettes of red, green, and cobalt, every piece is instantly identifiable as a Poonam Soni signature -- bold, emotive, and sculpturally modern.
For Singhania, the collaboration is a joyful creative exchange. “I love creating the mini artworks I do for Poonam,” she says. “She brings them to greater life with her exquisite jewels and design sensibilities. The final piece is an arresting fusion of both our passions.”
