Rapido is tightening its grip on Delhi’s urban mobility market, clocking nearly 3 crore rides every month in the capital and rapidly expanding its base of driver-partners as demand for affordable, high-frequency transport holds steady.
Delhi has emerged as one of Rapido’s most critical markets, combining scale with steady ride volumes across categories such as two-wheelers, autos, and cabs. Over the October–December quarter, the city continued to deliver consistent demand, underlining the platform’s ability to operate at high volumes in one of India’s most congested and complex urban centres.
For captains on the platform, the scale is translating into predictable income. Rapido says its Delhi-based captains earn an indicative average of ₹20,000–40,000 a month, supported by multiple earning levers such as surge incentives, subscription plans, category switching, and loyalty programmes. The company positions this flexibility as a key differentiator in a city where many drivers rely on gig platforms as a primary or supplementary source of income.
The past six months have also seen a sharp rise in captain onboarding in Delhi. Rapido added close to 6.5 lakh captains during this period, including around 3 lakh in the two-wheeler category, 1.5 lakh in autos, and 2 lakh in cabs, reinforcing the capital’s role as a major livelihood hub for the company.

Beyond sheer numbers, the platform is also seeing a gradual increase in women captains in Delhi, reflecting a broader push towards inclusive participation in app-based mobility. Flexible working hours and the ability to choose categories are helping draw a more diverse set of drivers into the ecosystem.
“Delhi represents everything that mobility in India stands for—scale, diversity, and complexity,” said Manasvi Mann, general counsel and head of corporate affairs and public policy at Rapido. “Facilitating nearly 3 crore rides a month here reflects trust from commuters and meaningful earning opportunities for thousands of captains,” Mann added.
At a national level, Rapido says it supports over 30 lakh captains across bikes, autos, cabs, and deliveries, operating in more than 400 cities. The company has completed over 50 million rides so far, positioning itself as one of India’s largest gig-based livelihood platforms.
