Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia met industry CEOs from India and overseas at an evening event centred on connectivity and innovation on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona. He is leading the Indian delegation at the global telecom summit, which is being held from March 2 to 5.

As part of his schedule, the minister will inaugurate the Bharat Pavilion and unveil the IMC 2026 Curtain Raiser. He is set to address the GSMA Ministerial Programme on "Breaking the Cost Barrier" and take part in bilateral meetings and strategic discussions with industry leaders.
Sunil Bharti Mittal gets Lifetime Achievement Award from the GSMA
Scindia congratulated Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the GSMA at MWC.

It is indeed a proud moment for India and for the global communications ecosystem," Scindia said on X.
According to the Ministry of Communications, the minister will speak at the GSMA Ministerial Programme during the main stage session titled "Built for What's Next," where global leaders will discuss future-ready digital infrastructure and new technology frameworks.
He will also visit booths of major global and Indian companies to see technology demonstrations. The minister is scheduled to visit the booth of Tejas Networks for the launch of the T31600-D3 Hyper-scalable DCI Platform, marking a step forward in India’s telecom product development.
In addition, Scindia will hold high-level bilateral meetings with telecom stakeholders to explore cooperation in universal connectivity and resilient communication infrastructure.
The minister’s presence at MWC 2026 reflects India’s growing importance in the global digital and mobile sector. Through meetings with governments, industry executives and technology companies, the visit aims to build stronger international partnerships, attract investment and enhance India’s role in shaping secure and inclusive digital networks worldwide.
