Andhra CM Naidu meets Piyush Goyal to discuss state's industrial growth, invites PM Modi for Bhogapuram Airport inauguration

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and senior leaders from the state held discussions with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday on measures to accelerate industrial development, boost exports and strengthen key sectors of the economy.
Sharing details of the meeting on social media platform X, Goyal said the discussions centred on advancing Andhra Pradesh's major growth sectors and identifying opportunities to enhance the state's economic development.
"Had a constructive discussion with Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu ji, Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu ji, MoS Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani ji, MoS Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma ji, and fellow Members of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh on advancing the state's key growth sectors," the minister said.
The meeting was attended by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Minister of State Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, and Members of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh.
According to Goyal, the deliberations focused on accelerating industrial development, promoting exports across sectors, strengthening the fisheries sector and enhancing farmer welfare. The leaders also explored ways to unlock new opportunities for investment, employment generation and inclusive growth.
Inauguration of Bhogapuram International Airport
Separately, Naidu also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday and invited him for the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, Bhogapuram, on August 1.
“I had the privilege of inviting the Hon'ble Prime Minister to Andhra Pradesh for the inauguration of Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, Bhogapuram. Named after the legendary freedom fighter Shri Alluri Sitarama Raju Garu, the airport stands as a tribute to his enduring legacy of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism,” he wrote in a post on X.
“The inauguration of this airport will give wings to the aspirations of Uttar Andhra, unlocking new opportunities for connectivity, tourism, trade, and economic growth,” he added.
Naidu further said that India is steadily advancing towards the goal of Viksit Bharat. Andhra Pradesh remains committed to contributing meaningfully to this journey by building a Swarna Andhra Pradesh.
Swarna Andhra Pradesh Vision 2047 is the state government's long-term development roadmap launched by Naidu. The plan aims to transform the state into a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047, in line with India's goal of becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.
