Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the government will continue to undertake economic reforms like GST in the Winter Session of Parliament, which begins today. In his message ahead of the commencement of the session, PM Modi said Parliament should be used for “delivering” and not for “drama.”
“Negativity may be useful in politics. But ultimately, there should be some positive thinking for nation-building. I expect you to keep negativity within limits and focus on nation-building,” PM Modi said in his message.
“Whoever wants to do drama can do it. There should be delivery here and not drama. The emphasis should be on policy, not slogans,” Modi said.
“GST reforms have created an atmosphere of reverence among the countrymen. A lot of work will be done in that direction in this session as well,” PM Modi added.
PM Modi also referred to the recent electoral victory for the NDA in Bihar. “The record voter turnout in the recent elections in Bihar is the greatest strength of democracy. The increasing participation of mothers and sisters is, in itself, creating new hope and new confidence,” he said.

“On one hand, the strengthening of democracy, and now within this democratic system, the strengthening of the economy is also being closely watched by the world. India has proven that democracy can deliver results,” he added.
PM Modi suggested to both the BJP and the Congress that the Winter Session should not become a battlefield for frustration caused by defeat, or an arena for arrogance after victory.
“The game the opposition has been playing for the past 10 years is no longer acceptable to the people. They should change their strategy. I am ready to give them some tips,” PM Modi said.
