Japanese auto major Lexus today showcased its portfolio of electric cars at the Auto Expo 2023. The EVs that were unveiled to visitors at the auto expo included Lexus RX, Lexus LF-30, Lexus LF-Z, Lexus UX300e, Lexus LM, Lexus 500d, Lexus LC 500h, and Lexus ES 300h.

Claiming to be the world’s first luxury hybrid SUV, the 2023 Lexus RX was developed on the “Alluring x Verve" design concept.

The RX adopts Lexus' next-generation design and evolved performance through the Lexus Driving Signature, including the DIRECT4 all-wheel drive force system. The RX lineup includes the first-ever RX 500h F SPORT Performance and RX 450h+ Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant, along with classic petrol and hybrid powertrains.

The Lexus LF-30 concept made its world debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2019. Lexus says LF-30 is meant to visually express the "energy created by the wheels set at the corners of the vehicle body streaming toward the vehicle cabin and past the driver to directly flow onto the road surface".

Another offering, the Lexus LF-Z concept is set for launch in 2025. Lexus says the LF-Z aims for a "simple and captivating shape" with strong proportions and a distinctive appearance. For LF-Z, the iconic spindle grille will be evolved into the overall body architecture. The cockpit was designed based on the new concept of "Tazuna", the Japanese word for “rein”, while the rear-tiered horizontal forms were combined with a three-dimensional structure.

The company says its other offering "Lexus UX300e was the first significant step in the evolution of the brand’s production of battery EVs".

Lexus LM is designed to meet the needs of modern, on-the-go professionals, and boasts of a refined personal space, optimised for work and relaxation. The luxurious car is set to come to India in an all-new version soon.

The luxury brand introduced the Lexus 500d last year. It comes with a rich legacy and is crafted to elevate the experience. Lexus LC 500h, says Lexus, was inspired by its LF-LC concept. The flagship coupé was created for luxury, sophistication, and performance.

Lexus' ES 300h has been dubbed as a “Made in India'' car, which makes India the 4th country in the world to produce a Lexus.

The Lexus pavilion at Auto Expo 2023 also flaunted the Lexus brand gallery -- a space conveying Lexus's essence of design and craftsmanship. The Lexus Design Award India corner exhibited a few of the winning entries from past editions of the property. Lexus also curated the ‘Lexus Lounge’, an exclusive hospitality space.

Other highlights of the Auto Expo 2023, so far, have been Hyundai Motor India's much-awaited electric SUV, IONIQ 5; Maruti Suzuki India Limited's (MSIL) two new SUVs — Jimny, Fronx; Tata Motors' HARRIER.EV, SIERRA.EV; and Chinese car manufacturer MG Motor India's unveiling of its maiden hydrogen fuel cell multi-purpose vehicle (MPV)—EUNIQ 7. The company also showcased its third-generation fuel cell technology, known as PROME P390.
