To empower the sales force and policyholders with round-the-clock digital services, life insurance behemoth LIC (Life Insurance Corporation) has launched the ‘One Man Office’ (OMO) online service through its agents, according to the insurance company’s announcement.

The insurance company through the OMO is creating a digital ecosystem customised to its diverse sales force which consists of agents, development officers, senior business associates, chief life insurance advisors, LIC associates and chief organiser. This tool is designed to streamline daily operations, boost efficiency to meet customers requirements in a better way.

Siddhartha Mohanty, CEO & MD, LIC of India, said that it will be a vital tool at the hands of the sales force to promote life insurance and render service to LIC’s customers. “It will be a shot in the arm for achieving the objective of ‘Insurance for All by 2047’.”

Packed with features like a premium calculator, benefit illustrations, E-NACH registration, change of address, online loan requests, renewal premium payments, claim related requirement submission, etc. Ananda streamlines the entire process, says the company.

LIC claims that OMO is set to transform the way agents work, a one-stop solution for all business and service needs. “In short, it is a mobile digital office at the hands of the sales force and plans to evolve as an easy-to-use one stop solution for all business and servicing needs, which will be available through their mobile phones.”

LIC informs that it intends to enhance the app in stages, adding new features that will evolve with ever-changing needs of the users.

Recently, LIC clocked a standalone net profit to ₹11,056 crore in the October-December quarter, marking a 17% increase compared to the ₹9,444 crore net profit in the same quarter of the previous year.

The life insurance company sold a total of 1,17,10,505 policies in the individual segment during the nine months ending December 31, 2024, down from 1,25,56,046 policies in the same period of the previous year, reflecting a 6.73% decline.
