Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Tuesday said that its hydrocarbon business, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon (LTEH), has bagged "significant orders" from a client in the Middle East. The company did not disclose the name of client and exact value of the order. However, the company categorises order in the range of ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 crore as a significant order.

Shares of L&T climbed 1.21% to ₹3,328.25 apiece on the BSE today after the company secured both an onshore and an offshore ‘significant order’ from a client in the Middle East for its hydrocarbon vertical.

As per the company, the onshore contract involves the complete engineering, procurement, and construction of an Enclosed Ground-Flare system. Moreover, it encompasses the dismantling of existing facilities, aimed at mitigating flame and smoke visibility to the nearby ongoing large-scale residential developments. On the other hand, the offshore contract primarily focuses on brownfield operations, including the enhancement of shutdown systems in existing offshore platforms, the company says in a filing exchange.

According to the company, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon (LTEH) is involved in executing both domestic and international projects, with a commitment to strengthening its presence in the regions it serves.

LTEH offers end-to-end solutions across the hydrocarbon sector to its clientele, encompassing Offshore, Onshore EPC, Modular Fabrication, Advanced Value Engineering & Technology (AdVENT), and Offshore Wind Farm Business Groups.

“Organised under Offshore, Onshore EPC, Modular Fabrication, Advanced Value Engineering & Technology (AdVENT) and Offshore Wind Farm Business Groups, LTEH offers integrated design-to build solutions across the hydrocarbon sector to domestic and international customers,” the company states.

“L&T Energy Hydrocarbon is executing several domestic and international projects and is committed to building its regional presence in geographies that it operates by growing local skills and talent, improving procurement from local vendors, engaging commercially with local contractors on the foundation of a sustainable workload,” the company adds.

The development came a week after L&T’s transportation infrastructure business secured a ‘large order’ from the Public Works Roads Department (PwRD). On February 6, L&T bagged a ‘large order’ by the PwRD for its transportation infrastructure business to construct the Palashbari to Sualkuchi Cable Stayed Bridge across the river Brahmaputra in Assam. ‘Large order’ comprises a value in the range of ₹2,500-5,000 crore.

“The project has been awarded by the Public Works Roads Department (PwRD), Assam to construct a 12.21 Km long bridge with approaches connecting Palashbari and Sualkuchi. The bridge will directly connect both the towns,” the company said.

Sualkuchi village stands out as one of the world’s largest weaving hubs, renowned for crafting traditional Assamese garments using local materials such as Muga, the prized golden silk exclusive to the region. The bridge will serve as a direct link to the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Assam, as per the company’s statement.

The project entails constructing a 3.6 km long cable-stayed bridge section, complemented by a 5.61 km approach from the Palashbari side and a 3.0 km approach from the Sualkuchi side, including wetland approach viaducts. The maximum span of the extradosed cable-stayed section will be 165 m. The completion timeline for the project is set at 48 months.
