"Atmanirbhar Bharat" and "Vocal for Local" are the strategies through which the vision of Viksit Bharat can be achieved. We should encourage it wholeheartedly: PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while chairing the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today on Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047, said India should focus on "one goal" to make Bharat Viksit by 2047. "We should have the aim of making each State Viksit, each city Viksit, each Nagar Palika Viksit and each village Viksit. If we work on these lines, we will not have to wait till 2047 to become Viksit Bharat."
The Prime Minister said India has to increase the speed of development, and that if the Centre and all the states come together and work together like Team India, no goal is impossible. "Viksit Bharat is the goal of every Indian. When every state is Viksit, then Bharat will be Viksit. This is the aspiration of its 140 crore citizens," the Prime Minister said.
Advising the states, the PM said they should develop at least one tourist destination per state at par with global standards and by providing all facilities and infrastructure. "One State: One Global Destination. It would also lead to development of the neighbouring cities as tourist places."
He said India is getting rapidly urbanised, and that focus should be on "future ready cities", with growth, innovation and sustainability as the engine for the development.
The PM also said India must work towards the inclusion of women in its work force and laws and policies should respectfully integrate them in the workforce. "We should work in a manner so that policies implemented bring change in the lives of common citizens. Only when people feel the change, it strengthens the change and transforms the change into a movement. We have a great opportunity as a team to fulfil the aspirations of 140 Crore people."
The meeting provided a platform for the Centre and states/UTs to deliberate on measures to advance the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 and build consensus on how states can be the building blocks for making India a developed nation. Chief Ministers and Lt. Governors of states and Union Territories participated in the meeting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set an ambitious goal for India to become a developed nation by 2047, which aligns with the 100th year of its independence. The Viksit Bharat@2047 vision focuses on inclusive growth, innovation, infrastructure, and sustainability, positioning every state and sector as vital contributors to India's long-term socio-economic transformation.
