British luxury automaker Aston Martin has officially launched the highly anticipated V12 Vanquish in India, marking the return of one of its most iconic nameplates. Priced at ₹8.85 crore (ex-showroom, without options), the Vanquish embodies an extraordinary fusion of power, elegance, and cutting-edge engineering, positioning itself as the brand’s new halo model.
At the heart of the Vanquish is a monstrous 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine that delivers an astonishing 835PS of power and 1000Nm of torque, making it the most powerful V12 in Aston Martin’s core sports car lineup. With a top speed of 345 km/h (214 mph), it is now the fastest series production car from the brand, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
Aston Martin has meticulously engineered the Vanquish’s powertrain to deliver unmatched performance. Featuring a strengthened cylinder block, redesigned cylinder heads, reprofiled camshafts, and new high-flow fuel injectors, the V12 engine achieves an unprecedented specific output of 160PS per litre. The inclusion of high-speed, reduced-inertia turbochargers enhances throttle response, ensuring explosive acceleration while meeting the latest global emission standards.
The new Vanquish isn’t just about raw power—it’s also a showcase of Aston Martin’s advanced chassis technology. The car features an extended wheelbase (+80mm), Bilstein DTX dampers, an electronic rear differential (e-diff), and bespoke 21-inch Pirelli P ZERO™ tyres, all designed to provide the perfect balance between high-speed stability and sharp, responsive handling. The blend of supercar agility with grand touring comfort sets a new benchmark in the ultra-luxury performance segment.
Aston Martin’s signature design philosophy takes an assertive leap forward with the Vanquish. The stretched bonnet, imposing front grille, and aggressive styling elements create a striking road presence. At the rear, distinctive aerodynamic elements and a sculpted profile further distinguish it from its sibling, the DB12. Customers can choose between a carbon fibre or full-length panoramic glass roof, further elevating the car’s bespoke appeal.
Inside, the Vanquish’s cabin is a sanctuary of modern luxury, crafted with the finest materials and state-of-the-art technology. The cockpit features a new-generation infotainment system, plush leather upholstery, and an ergonomic layout that puts the driver at the center of the action. Though strictly a two-seater, the Vanquish prioritizes comfort and sophistication without compromising on its performance pedigree.
Aston Martin Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll described the Vanquish as “a true halo model” that redefines the brand’s sports car lineup. “With this launch, we have created an Aston Martin that is the epitome of power, beauty, and soul. The Vanquish delivers on our promise of producing the most potent, most beautiful, and most exciting cars in the ultra-luxury market.”
With production limited to fewer than 1,000 units per year, the Vanquish is set to become a highly coveted collector’s item. Competing with the likes of the Ferrari 12 Cilindri, it reaffirms Aston Martin’s dominance in the high-performance grand tourer segment. For discerning enthusiasts in India, the arrival of the V12 Vanquish signals not just the launch of a car, but the beginning of a new chapter in automotive excellence.
