Bain Capital-backed Dhoot Transmission has partnered with Israel-based RideVision to introduce Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) solutions in India, marking the company's entry into intelligent mobility and automotive safety technologies at a time when vehicle safety is emerging as a key growth opportunity for the domestic auto component industry.

The partnership will focus on localising RideVision's artificial intelligence (AI)-driven rider assistance technology for Indian road conditions, while strengthening Dhoot Transmission's electronics portfolio amid rising demand for connected and safety-focused mobility solutions.

The move comes as India's automotive ecosystem increasingly shifts towards advanced electronics, software-defined vehicles and safety technologies. India remains the world's largest two-wheeler market, with annual sales exceeding 18 million units, while road safety continues to be a critical challenge. According to government data, two-wheelers account for a significant share of road accident fatalities in the country, creating a sizeable opportunity for rider-assistance technologies.

Expanding beyond traditional auto components

The partnership represents a strategic diversification for Dhoot Transmission, which has traditionally been known for wiring harnesses, electrical distribution systems, sensors and controllers supplied to automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

"We believe this is the right time to bring intelligent safety technologies to India," said Naveen Kumar, CEO – India (Wiring Harness and Electronics) at Dhoot Transmission. "Our partnership with RideVision combines global ADAS expertise with our deep understanding of the Indian market to develop solutions specifically engineered for Indian road and operating conditions."

Industry analysts expect the ADAS market in India to witness robust growth over the next decade, driven by increasing consumer awareness, regulatory focus on safety, and greater adoption of connected vehicle technologies. While ADAS features have largely been confined to premium passenger vehicles, industry participants are increasingly exploring applications for two-wheelers and mass-market mobility platforms.

Localisation push gathers pace

For RideVision, which specialises in AI-powered collision avoidance systems for motorcycles, the collaboration provides access to one of the world's largest two-wheeler markets.

"India stands at the precipice of a fascinating new era of smart mobility—one that will have a profound, measurable impact on saving lives every single day," said Uri Lavi, founder and CEO of RideVision. "By localising this cutting-edge technology, we aim to democratise life-saving safety solutions for all."

The partnership will focus on technology integration, localisation and the development of intelligent safety solutions tailored to India's evolving mobility ecosystem.

The announcement follows Dhoot Transmission's recent agreement, through its subsidiary Dhoot Automotive Systems, to acquire the business of Bengaluru-based Multilink, underscoring the company's broader push to expand its electronics and advanced technology capabilities.

As of December 2025, Dhoot Transmission operated 22 manufacturing facilities across India and overseas, serving both internal combustion engine and electric vehicle segments.
