Kia India on Friday expanded its Syros SUV portfolio with the introduction of the new HTK (EX) variant, strengthening the model’s value positioning in the competitive mid-size SUV segment. With this addition, the Syros range now comprises seven trims, offering a wider price and feature spread for buyers.

The HTK (EX) trim is priced at ₹9.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol version and ₹10.63 lakh for the diesel, placing it between the existing HTK (O) and higher-spec variants. Kia said the new trim was introduced following customer feedback to offer higher feature density at an accessible price point.

Built on Kia’s reinforced K1 platform and carrying a five-star Bharat NCAP rating, the Syros offers a spacious cabin and a large boot, supporting its positioning as a family-oriented SUV.

Feature upgrades across exterior and interior

Based on the HTK (O) variant, the HTK (EX) adds LED daytime running lamps, LED headlamps and tail-lamps, and 16-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its styling credentials.

Inside, it comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an electric sunroof, electrically adjustable and foldable outside rear-view mirrors, flush-type door handles, and a rear parking camera with sensors, adding to comfort and convenience.

Safety features retained, diesel variant added

The HTK (EX) continues Syros’ safety-first approach, offering over 20 features, including six airbags, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist, and vehicle stability management.

Kia has extended diesel availability to the HTK (EX), appealing to buyers seeking higher torque and fuel efficiency, particularly in semi-urban and rural markets where diesel SUVs remain popular.

The HTK (EX) trim launch comes as competition intensifies in the sub-₹15 lakh SUV segment, where automakers rely on variant updates and feature additions to drive sales. For Kia India, this addition strengthens the Syros’ price-to-feature competitiveness and expands its addressable customer base.
