Higher-capacity variant targets range-sensitive buyers amid rising electric scooter adoption
TVS Motor rolls out iQube S 4.7 kWh at ₹1.37 lakh with 175 km range as EV portfolio nears 9 lakh users
The new variant offers an IDC-certified range of 175 km on a single charge, marking a step-up in battery capacity within the iQube portfolio

TVS Motor Company on Wednesday launched a higher-range variant of its electric scooter, iQube S 4.7 kWh, priced at ₹1,37,142 (effective ex-showroom Delhi, including subsidies), as it looks to deepen its play in India’s fast-expanding electric two-wheeler segment.

The new variant offers an IDC-certified range of 175 km on a single charge, marking a step-up in battery capacity within the iQube portfolio. The launch builds on the company’s existing EV base of over 9 lakh users, indicating scale in a segment that has seen accelerating adoption over the past two years.

The move comes as competition intensifies in the electric scooter market, where higher real-world range and usability are emerging as key purchase drivers, especially among family buyers.

Larger battery, focus on usability

The iQube S upgrade to a 4.7 kWh battery is aimed at addressing range anxiety while expanding use cases beyond daily commuting to longer intra-city travel. The company said the variant retains the core riding experience of the iQube platform while improving endurance.

Alongside the battery upgrade, TVS Motor has introduced new dual-tone colour options, including Magnificence Purple Beige and Harlequin Blue Beige, in addition to Titanium Grey Matte, to widen consumer appeal.

In its statement, the company said the iQube range is built around three pillars—offering choice across range and features, ensuring safety and reliability, and simplifying the ownership and riding experience.

Distribution scale-up supports growth

TVS Motor’s electric scooter portfolio is now available across more than 1,000 cities through over 3,300 dealerships, reflecting a significant expansion in its EV distribution network.

The company’s widening retail footprint comes amid a broader shift in the market, where legacy two-wheeler manufacturers are scaling up EV offerings to compete with new-age players.

With the addition of the 4.7 kWh variant, TVS Motor is sharpening its positioning in the mid-to-premium electric scooter segment, where demand is increasingly skewed towards higher range, improved practicality and brand-backed service networks, the company stated.
