Volvo-Eicher Commercial Vehicles names B. Srinivas as MD & CEO; Vinod Aggarwal to take over as chairman

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), the joint venture between Eicher Motors Limited (EML) and Volvo Group, has appointed B. Srinivas as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2026, marking a significant leadership transition at the commercial vehicle manufacturer.

Srinivas, a long-time Eicher veteran with more than three decades of experience within the group, will succeed Vinod Aggarwal, who will transition to the role of Chairman of the board. Aggarwal will take over from Sofia Frändberg, who completes her three-year term as Chairperson and will continue to serve on the company’s board.

Currently the Chief Operating Officer of VECV, Srinivas has held several leadership roles across strategy, product planning, sales, marketing and operations during his tenure with the group. Prior to his current role, he headed product strategy and purchasing between 2022 and 2024, and earlier led the Eicher bus business from 2018 to 2022.

Announcing the appointment, Siddhartha Lal, chairman of Eicher Motors, said Srinivas’ elevation reflects the company’s long-term strategy of leadership continuity and internal talent development. Lal noted that he had worked closely with Srinivas for more than two decades and praised his hands-on leadership style, customer-centric approach and strategic thinking.

Aggarwal, who has spent more than four decades with the Eicher Group, has led VECV for nearly two decades, first as CEO and later as Managing Director and CEO. Under his leadership, the company expanded into new product segments and markets while strengthening its position in India’s commercial vehicle industry.

Reflecting on the leadership transition, Frändberg said VECV represents a successful partnership between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors since the joint venture was established in 2008. Over the years, the company has invested significantly in products, manufacturing capacity, technology and distribution networks, enabling it to emerge as a strong player in the commercial vehicle market.

Srinivas said his three-decade journey with Eicher had been deeply rewarding and expressed confidence in steering the company through its next phase of growth alongside its leadership team.

VECV’s businesses include Eicher-branded trucks and buses, Volvo buses in India, distribution of Volvo trucks, and the manufacturing of automotive engines for the Volvo Group’s global operations.
